The City of Rosenberg Municipal Court has begun holding in-person hearings again.
To reduce courtroom occupancy and to promote social distancing, if you have an upcoming court date, you must call the Municipal Court at 832-595-3450, and the court staff will assign a time for you to appear on your court date.
To protect the community and municipal court staff, face coverings or masks are required for all those appearing for proceedings at the City of Rosenberg Municipal Court. Masks will be made available for use, if necessary.
A variety of individuals are compelled to appear at the City of Rosenberg Municipal Court and for the protection of them and staff, face coverings or masks will continue to be required for those who appear in court. This protocol will be in place until further notice.
Governor Greg Abbott issued executive orders prohibiting governmental entities or officials from mandating masks in government facilities, however the Governor’s executive orders do not alter Texas Supreme Court emergency orders and a judge’s inherent right to control his/her courtroom, by requiring face coverings and masks.
The court staff will screen all court participants and observers for elevated temperatures and use a questionnaire to determine if the individual has recently had symptoms of COVID-19 or been exposed to COVID-19.
The Municipal Court windows will remain open to accept payments, and online payments are available through Municipal Online Payments.
For questions, or if you have concerns about your particular case, please contact the Municipal Court at 832-595-3450.
The Rosenberg Municipal Court has general jurisdiction over all misdemeanor offenses and Municipal Code violations committed within the city limits and as allowed by law within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Rosenberg that are punishable by fine only.
