Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Division is a member of the Community Development Department though we serve all City departments and citizen requests involving geographic data and mapping.

Responsibilities

The GIS Department responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Addressing
  • Digital and Print Cartographic Presentation
  • Data Analysis, Collection, Creation, Distribution, Maintenance, and Storage
  • Quality Control

Tools & Software

To aid in the achievement of these responsibilities the GIS department utilizes:

  • Enterprise level SQL database
  • Epson T7270D large format plotter with scanner
  • ESRI products such as:
    • ArcGIS for Desktop
    • ArcGIS for Server
    • ArcGIS Online
  • Trimble R2 GPS Antenna
  • Bad Elf GNSS Surveyor GPS Antenna
